1 Punctuation: Part 1 Capital Letters
It is impossible to achieve good grades in English unless you are able to punctuate properly. When you speak you punctuate naturally allowing you to express yourself clearly, however, when you write you must add in the punctuation to present yourself clearly. Today you are going to revisit your primary school days and brush up on your capital letters!

2 Capital Letters re-cap
When to use them: Beginning of sentences and verses. For initials, names and places. When beginning direct speech. The first and main words of titles, books, newspapers etc. Days of the week, month holidays and special days. Acronyms: for example GMTV or BBC When using proper nouns such as: English, McDonalds and Elizabethan. When writing letters: Dear and Yours Sincerely.

3 What do you know? Why is punctuation necessary?
List 4 occasions where capital letters are essential. Correct the following sentences: what is the capital of spain, ailsa? my favourite song at the moment is ‘have a nice day’ by stereophonics. Which of the following words need a capital letter: rspca, hamburger, restaurant, summer, monday, eric, wwf, southport.
