You are probably only familiar with a handful of companies. More mainstream because they are accessible, affordable and of course marketed to you.
- Bell and Rogers may have more restrictions than you require, ie. Limit bandwidth (amount of data that can be transferred by connection)

Disadvantages
Slow overall speed
Ties up your phone line
Low quality data transfers
Example - Some computer games will not work because the transfer rate is too slow.

Cable vs. DSL speeds are up for debate. Studies show it is also dependant on the company you are using and how they are connected to the Internet.

Requires a wireless modem or router
May have free access, paid access, or password access
Antenna on modem sends a signal through airwaves
3G & 4G Networks also available through providers for cellphones and tablets
Satellite Access is also available for people in remote locations

SATELLITE ACCESS IS USED BY LARGER COMPANIES. And for remote users who require high-speed access

Advantages
Portable and convenient
Can also use on Cellular phone, tablet, gaming device, laptop, etc.
Disadvantages
Can be costly
Service is not available in all areas

Remote User, attaches a satellite receptor dish, similar to satellite tv to their house/business
