8 What if your child misses class?
See his/her teacher for missed notes, classwork or homework. Students should set up appointment with teacher for Resource or after school to go over missed notes. If a QUIZ or TEST is missed, it is expected to be made up during Resource or after school by the next block.

9 After School Sessions Used for make up work or extra help
Contact your child’s teacher Turn in after school permission form (can be found outside the house office) I am available Wednesdays after school every week, there are also a math teacher here Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.

10 Homework Expectations
Homework assigned each day Agendas are signed daily for accuracy No calculators are allowed to be used unless indicated on assignment. Can check Phoenix or contact teacher for missing assignments.

11 Helpful Websites IXL – 10 free problems per day with no subscription
Khan Academy – video tutorials Jefferson Labs – SOL practice Aleks ( we are using that in our classroom this year!)

12 How can you help? Check completed homework and help child be confident and comfortable solving math problems. Sometimes the biggest hurdle a child can overcome is their fear of math. Drill basic math facts Contact teacher if you see struggles at home Reinforce areas in need of improvement

13 Frequently Asked Questions
“Can I take a re-take?” Retakes are given at teacher discretion when performance on summatives does not match performance on formatives. “Is there an online textbook?” Yes you can pick this information from the front table at the door.
