Airports – Number of destinations served
Accessibility: a central agglomeration benefit and driver in the economic and social development of places. Air accessibility: Europe appears as a mosaic. Dynamic modifications of airline destinations changed regional accessibility by air (positive and negative direction): low cost air carriers risks in terms of long-term air accessibility improvement. large international airports ensure a stable position of air accessibility. Different modes of transport create different patterns of accessibility. Air connections seem to support European polycentric development and world integration.
