1 Keller ISD Graduation Plan
Greetings Keller ISD 8th Graders. Today we are going to talk to you about your four- year graduation plan, or iGraduate Plan for success. Only in

2 What is it? So what is this iGraduate Program all about. It’s about choice, you are creating your future. Think about your goals, your aspirations. In Keller ISD we have opportunities for you to develop new skills and hone others. This is a new, more flexible graduation program that allows you to pursue your interests. It is individualized to cater to your needs. Some people would ask, How can we know what we will be doing in 4 years? Keller ISD understands that things change, but we also know that it is always best to have a plan in place. One of the skills that you need is setting goals for yourself. Here is where we will start. The iGraduate Program is in place for all students who enter high school.

Public Service contains pathways that focus on service to the people, such as education, government, health science, hospitality, law enforcement and more. Lastly, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math courses make up stem endorsement. All require a 4th Math and 4th Science, plus specific courses related to the endorsement. You will be selecting your endorsement later on in the first semester after you learn more about them.

6 EIC Rank and GPA Calculation
Keller ISD is currently proposing a policy that would change how the grade point average and rank process is completed for current middle school students. We will continue to gather feedback and bring you the most up to date information concerning this policy.

7 ADDITIONAL OPTIONS Distinguished Level of Achievement
Performance Acknowledgment Requirements: Endorsement Algebra 2 Earned through: Dual Credit AP Test Scores PSAT, SAT, ACT Scores Certifications/Licensures This Distinguished Achievement Program is what all incoming freshmen begin with when entering high school. The requirements are as follows: You must complete the Endorsement program which includes a 4th Math and Science and must have Algebra II. Notice that in order to be eligible for automatic admission in the state of Texas, you must graduate under the Distinguished Plan. The Performance Acknowledgements are stamps on your transcript or academic achievement record that shows what you have done above and beyond the graduation requirements. Dual Credit is where a student earns credit in both high school and college. This is not available until the junior year. Certain scores on AP tests, SAT, ACT, PSAT can also add performance acknowledgements. Lastly, some students will be able to earn certificates in specific fields and these can count. Distinguished is required under Top 10% automatic admission law.

8 Portrait of a Keller ISD Graduate
College and Career Ready Distinguished Endorsement 4 credits Foundation 22 Credits So let’s see how all of this will come together. You will start with the basics, the foundation, which was described earlier. As we begin building our plans, you will select your Endorsement category and take classes within pathways of your selected endorsement. Since you are already on the path, a distinguished achievement in graduation will naturally follow. All of this together will help you become college and career ready. All of this will help you demonstrate success in college or further study, demonstrate social awareness, be able to communicate effectively, have strong personal qualities, use technology as a tool, and to exhibit creative thinking, critical thinking, and problem solving. This is a portrait of a Keller ISD graduate. Minimum 26 State Credits to Graduate

9 What do 4-Year Universities want?
Recommended Algebra II Chemistry Physics We have had many questions about universities and their entrance requirements. It is our recommendation that a student who has this post-secondary goal take Algebra 2, Chemistry, and Physics in high school. These above courses might not necessarily be required in order to graduate from Keller ISD. You will need to consult with your university as to the requirements for admissions. For students with 4-Year University goals, it is best to consult with the university as to their entrance requirements.
