1928
Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) traces its history to 1928 when the Burmah Shell Oil Storage & Distribution Company of India was incorporated in England to enter the petroleum products business in India.
1976
The companies name changed to Bharat Refineries Limited (BRL) on 12th, February 1976.
1994
- During the year, the corporation commissioned 124 retail outlets and 10 oil/light diesel oil dealership.
- On 25th February, a joint venture company `Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd' was incorporated. And was set up as a joint venture between Oman oil Co. Ltd and the Corporation
