The specimen should be over the light hole

4. Let’s find it!
3. Move the revolving nosepiece so the scope is on LOW POWER
4. Use the coarse adjustment to move your objective all the way down

5. WARNING!!!
If you do not move the objective to low power you will CRUSH your slide!!
If you break it, you buy it!!
Slides are about $5-$10 each!!

6. While looking in your scope!
Use the coarse adjustment to begin focusing UP!
Find the object in the best focus possible.
Before moving on…
7. Center your specimen.

Change to high power

8. DON’T GET NERVOUS!
The HIGH POWER will come very close to the slide, but I promise it will not hit the slide!
