6 Study Halls Students will be able to schedule one period of study hall per semester Study hall is NOT required but STRONGLY encouraged for 9th grade year Be aware that the transition to high school is sometimes a tough one. With the added work load & extracurriculars, study hall could help.

7 Extra Curricular Activities

9 PE, Health, & Financial Literacy
PE Waiver- Students may be excused from the PE requirement by participating in: 2 years of ROTC or 2 full seasons of sports or 2 years of marching band CANNOT COMBINE THE 3 CATEGORIES ABOVE If you choose the PE Waiver, you will take Health and Financial Literacy your 9th grade year

10 Athletics To be eligible for fall sports:
Must be passing 5 classes at the end of the 4th quarter of your 8th grade year The Ohio High School Athletic Association guidelines are strictly followed

11 Timeline Today – Overview of high school, receive Scheduling Worksheets and answer questions February 21st -Turn in Scheduling Worksheets to your social studies teacher February 22nd, 23rd & 24th – One-on-one enter schedule with HS counselors April & May - HS counselors will be back down to answer any questions

13 GHS SCHEDULE CHANGE POLICY
Scheduled course requests will be mailed to your home in May. Changes can be requested through the last day of the current school year (May 26th) See the GHS Schedule Change Policy on the Student Services website

14 Questions & Reminders Scheduling Worksheets are due by:
Tuesday, February 21st to your Social Studies teacher Any questions about recommendations, please see your current teacher Concepts of Math 1 will be along with Algebra 1 Questions?
