Course Curriculum and Standards
All course curriculum is linked to the Common Core Mathematics Standards. The emphasis is problem solving and explaining/justifying work- not just getting the final answer but how you arrived at your final answer More open-ended performance tasks and mathematical, structured proofs in addition to practicing basic skills.

Grading Policy 100 – 90% => A Test and Quizzes 65% 89 – 80% => B
59 – 0% => F Test and Quizzes % Classwork/Homework % District Final Exam % Students must make up any missed work before the end of the unit/assessment Students must be prepared to take missed assessment when they return to school

Retake Policy Unit Tests only Maximum score: 80%
Retake score will replace original score

Extra Help and Tutoring
Free tutoring Monday-Thursday, 3pm – 4pm in Room 399 with a SMHS math teacher Free tutoring Monday-Thursday, 3pm-6pm in room 305 for all subjects We are available on an ask-basis
