2 Experiences connect travelers with interesting and passionate locals who invite them into their world and host them for an activity Experiences are guided activities designed and hosted by locals

3 General advice I. Sell it...
Make sure the text appeals to the Airbnb user. The idea is that each Experience is to be sold, therefore it must be sexy, creative and capture the user’s attention. III. Your tone, our style We need to find a common voice, a general feel to the Experiences that users can relate to. Always follow the instructions in the Style Guide, which will be updated regularly. IV. Be convincing The Editor notes are mandatory. They will be the basis of your changes and will help convince the author that your corrections are well- founded are carefully chosen. Remember, they’re the boss! II. ...to a certain extent The person offering the Experience is the author of the texts, and ultimately will have to approve your copy. Feel free to add an extra layer of information, but do not oversell or make promises. IV. Follow the rules Character limitations are to be respected at all times, otherwise the text will look truncated in the app. Language erros are a big no-no; make sure to check the spelling and grammar of your copy before delivering.

4 Pro Copy Dashboard To make our work more interactive and avoid the back and forth of s, Airbnb developed a tool for copyediting the Experiences. Click on a job under the Pending writer section and accept it by clicking the Start job button. If there is not enough information for you to make suggestions, press the Decline job button and explain your reasoning. This will send the Experience back to Airbnb to follow up with the host and get more information. After providing improved copy, send an to Ccaps to inform which Experiences you have completed; we will check everything and submit to a final QA before the host can approve it. Make sure to go through all the pages at the bottom of the page.

13 Character limitation Suggestions and guidelines
In most fields, a character limit is enforced in order to ensure a better visualization of the Experience; no one likes truncated text. If there is a character limit, it needs to be enforced. At all times! To make your life easier, once you start editing any field, a line will appear below the field that reads XX characters remaining or XX characters over in red to show that you must reduce your text to fit in the field; otherwise the copy will not be approved. Suggestions and guidelines ✅ Keep the tagline short, sweet, and to the point. ✅ Don’t waste characters by repeating words that already appear elsewhere. ✅ Don’t abbreviate words to avoid replacing them or changing the text entirely. ✅ Don’t use acronyms that aren’t widely known (e.g. CDMX is not known as Ciudad de Mexico by most users). ✅ Make sure that your sentence has a meaning and is well written; do not sacrifice grammar over reduction.

14 Spelling and grammar For grammar checking, use LanguageTool, an Open Source proofreading. Copy the text you want to check. Go to Paste the copied text in the box. Select the language and variant (for English, American; for Portuguese, Brazil). Click the Check Text button. Click the highlighted text to understand what is wrong Make the changes in the editing platform. Google has its own spellchecking tool. It is very simple to use: Select the line(s) you have edited. On the main menu, click Tools, then select Spelling... It automatically recognizes the language. You can Change, Ignore or Add to Dictionary (your very own).
