Rounding Up ELA
~In writing we will be working on using elaborative detail.
~In reading we will be analyzing characters and understanding the changes they go through in stories. We will be making inferences to do this.
~Ask your student to tell you about the conclusion of Edward Tulane.
Rounding Up Science
~We will be observing and describing the physical characteristics of environments and how they support populations and communities within the ecosystem.
~Ask your child to tell you about a what changes ecosystems.
Rounding Up Social Studies
~We will be using cardinal and intermediate directions as well as the compass rose, grid systems, and symbols to locate places on maps.
~Ask students to explain how a paper map can be useful to them.
Homework
Reading: Students are expected to read 20 minutes a night. The reading passage in this packet can be counted as part of the nightly reading. Make sure to show all of your reading strategies when completing the reading passage.
Math: Complete the attached pages. Make sure to use the strategies we learn in class and show all your work.
Spelling: Choose three activities from the tic tac toe board on the back of the spelling sheet. Make sure to attach these to your packet to turn in on Friday.
Rounding Up Math
~We will be interpreting information from pictographs and bar graphs.
~Ask your student to tell you about the different types of graphs.
