2. What You Need You will need : Three cups Thermometer Hot Water
Scissors
Cotton wool
Bubble wrap
A sheet of paper
Three sheets to record the temperatures

3. How to do it
First of all you wrap your cups with bubble wrap paper and cotton wool and fill them equally with hot water. Next put the thermometer in the first cup and every minute you check the temperature and record it. You now do this again to the next two cups each wrapped with a different material.

4. How to do it
When you have written them down take the last temperature from the first and see how much it has dropped.
At the end whichever cup has dropped the least the material on that cup is the best Insulator.

5. What We Predicted
We predicted that the cotton would be the best insulator but surprisingly it was the bubble wrap.

6. Conclusion
An Insulator does not allow heat to escape quickly. Some common Insulators are Cotton, Bubble Wrap, Foam and Wool.
