1 Basketball Games EQUIPMENT: basketball, playground ball,1 team wears jerseys (optional) GETTING STARTED: No more than 5 players on a team Games are played on 1 half court, no full court except for school team practice No make take( when your team makes a shot you don’t get to keep the ball) Most basketball rules apply First team to 2 points wins, players or teams waiting to play come on the court next Girls are allowed to play with boys or on their own separate court OtherBasketball activities, dribble, shoot, shooting games, horse, knock out, school, poisin FOULS: -Fouls happen when a player trips, pushes, charges, or has body contact with a player *A foul results in a time out for 1 basket or a new player plays in your position and fouling player goes to end of line. MAJOR RULES: No more than 2-3 steps without dribbling You may dribble with 1 or 2 hands (depends on how strict the students want to use this rule) DISAGREEMENT IN GAME: **players with disagreement or problems solve the problem out of the game using “WALK, TALK, ROCK.” **Other players should keep playing, players standing in line may take their place **If this does not work or if there is some kind of bullying or harassing then tell a supervisor immediately.

2 Capture The Flag Defenders:
‘Capture the flag’ is a big game for two teams of players. Both teams have a flag and the aim of the game is to capture the other team’s flag and defend your own. You’ll need no more than 10 players on each team (10 people on each team). Setting up: Choose two teams that ARE FAIR Both teams need a cone or ball OR OBJECT to steal Each person must have a set of flags that are clipped on there waist, should not be tied on Set some boundaries – a Home Area for each team, and a Jail Zone inside each area Each team hides their cone inside a coned off safe zone, scouts inside safe zone cannot be tagged Defenders cannot go inside safe zones Each team starts the game inside their Home Area Choose half of your team to be Scouts and the other half to be Defenders Defenders: -Defenders try to pull flags from the other team when they come into their Home Area -If they are tagged, Scouts must go to the other team’s Jail Zone and wait there -They can only leave the Jail Zone if one of their team members tags them. 1st in is 1st out of jail. -Players sneak into the other team’s Home Area to try to capture their flag -PLayers have to avoid the other team’s Defenders, players may not dive or jump, but may spin. -If they get flagged pulled by a Defender, they must go to the Jail Zone -If they capture the other team’s flag, they need to get it back to their Home Area without getting flags pulled -When this happens, the game is over. -Extra rules and tips: -Safe area is a an area for offensive players only -You can only pull flags when the other team are in your Home Area -Any cheating, lying, pushing or breaking school rules and you are out of the game -No flag guarding, tying flags, do not cheat, If you do not follow rules you are not allowed to play PROBLEM SOLVING -Talk, Walk, and ROCK -If there is bullying or cheating see an adult immediately and often till problem is solved

3 4-SQUARE OBJECTIVE: To hit the ball and stay in the game the longest, travel around the squares Equipment: 1 playground ball and 4-square marking GETTING STARTED: The serve starts in square 1 and is hit after a bounce, All hits are underhand 1 or 2 hands Players take position in squares All Hits with the ball are with an open under-hand, The ball must do a bounce, hit, bounce= bounce on ground, then hit with hand, then bounce on ground before hit again from another opponent 4. Play stops when ball is not returned or foul is made 5. If ball bounces in your square you must hit the ball into someone elses square FOULS: Balls may not hit a line Hitting the ball with sidearm or overhand motion Steeping in another square Catching or carrying a ball The ball to touch any part of the body except an open hand A player who misses or commits a foul goes to the end of the line and all players move up DISAGREEMENT IN GAME: **players with disagreement or problems solve the problem out of the game using “WALK, TALK, ROCK.” **Other players should keep playing, players standing in line may take their place **If this does not work or if there is some kind of bullying or harassing then tell a supervisor immediately.

4 KICKBALL EQUIPMENT: Ball-playground ball or foam ball GETTING STARTED:
No more than 10 players on each team, may play with less 2. Your own teammate pitches to you, pitcher is not allowed to field ball 3. Kicker gets 1 pitch, no second chance(rule to speed up game) , foul ball(ball is kicked out of playing area before the 1st or 3rd base cones) is out 4. 3 outs and you switch, outs are made when ball is missed, caught, kicked foul, tagged w/ball, forced out (tagging base) 5. You must not throw the ball at any player to get them out 6. 5 SOCCER/BASKETBALL EQUIPMENT: soccer ball, basketball, playground ball, jerseys for teams GETTING STARTED: No more than 3 players on each team No goalie For a win, kick the ball between the goals before the 30 second count, losing team goes out, new team comes in, maximum of 2 wins then team must go out Teams change out also when the waiting team counts to 30 and no one scores 4. Ball goes out of bounds, throw it in soccer style from where it went out of bounds FOULS: -Fouls happen when a player trips, pushes, charges, or has body contact with an opponent. -A free kick happens at the point of the foul DISAGREEMENT IN GAME: **players with disagreement or problems solve the problem out of the game using “WALK, TALK, ROCK.” **Other players should keep playing while disagreement is solved **If this does not work or if there is some kind of bullying or harassing then tell a supervisor immediately.

6 THROWING, CATCHING, KICKING
EQUIPMENT: Frisbee, any ball, foam ball, rings, Bean-bags, animals GETTING STARTED: You may play games when throwing such as: -players have 1 Frisbee, ring, bag each and try and throw the object in or on the cone or hula hoop as possible. -Players may take a step back if they complete a pass, the object of the game is to get farther back with out missing, if you cannot complete the pass you keep practicing from that same distance Equipment may not be used as weapons, to hit people with. Check to see that you have a clear passing lane with no one else between you and your partner. Throw in the proper area. 7 JUMP ROPE EQUIPMENT: jump rope-single or long rope
-measure your rope-stand in the middle of the rope and the end of the GETTING STARTED: Ropes are used to jump with not as a weapon Jump with enough space in the same direction Jump only in jump rope areas Long jump roping in groups of no more than 5 Hold ropes with your fingertips loosely Do not grip ropes tightly with whole hand Keep elbows close to body, thumbs up when turning, turn with forearms, hold rope in front of body, waist level, small jumps 8. Try different stunts, jump like an animal, backward toe taps, turns, jog, crossover, 1 leg, make it up. 8 TETHER-BALL GETTING STARTED:
2 players at a time, the rest line up outside play circle Players may not stand on opponents side Objective is to wind the rope in the desired direction by hitting the ball with 1 or 2 hands open or closed 4. To start hit the ball from anywhere on your side of the area 5. After 2 consecutive wins winner goes to the end of the line or players waiting may count for 20 seconds for a time limit, if there is no winner then 2 new payers come in FOULS: The penalty of a foul is a loss in the game Hitting the ball with anything other than your hands Catching or holding the ball Touching the pole or rope Throwing the ball Stepping out of your boundaries Double hits DISAGREEMENT IN GAME: **players with disagreement or problems solve the problem out of the game using “WALK, TALK, ROCK.” **Other players should keep playing, players standing in line may take their place **If this does not work or if there is some kind of bullying or harassing then tell a supervisor immediately.

9 TAG GAMES EQUIPMENT: none, must be played in tag area RULES:
TAGGING IS DONE ON THE SHOULDER WITH 2 FINGERS No pushing, tripping, hitting or other tagging attempts please Stay in the boundaries Simple tag (1-6 grades)2-3 students are out first, when you are tagged you join the taggers and try to get everyone out, start the next game with different taggers Freeze tag, tagged tags people, person tag must stay in a frozen position, like push up, squatting, balancing, etc… Addition tag (3-6 grades) 4-6 people are out, 2 students stand with hands joined and try to tag with your outside hands -when you have 4 people in your group you split off into couples and keep tagging till all are out, switch taggers at the beginning of game 6. Sharks and Minnows (grades 1-6) -start with 2-3 taggers in the middle of field all others are on one side of the line -the object is to run to the opposite side line without getting tagged -if you get tagged you join the Sharks and tag others DISAGREEMENT IN GAME: **players with disagreement or problems solve the problem out of the game using “WALK, TALK, ROCK.” **Other players should keep playing, players standing in line may take their place **If this does not work or if there is some kind of bullying or harassing then tell a supervisor immediately.

10 VOLLEYBALL EQUIPMENT: beach ball, foam ball, trainer volleyball, foam ball **2 Different Games, 1 is played by hitting with hands or arms, or you can play by catching and throwing the ball over the net, or you may play a combination of the two throwing/hitting GETTING STARTED: Not more than 10 players on 1 side of net Players may rotate in from sideline for the server After every serve you must rotate in a circular motion A point is scored anytime a team fails to return the ball over the net 5. A player may serve from anywhere on their side of the net 6. The ball or a player may not touch the net 7. Rally scoring- every time the ball touches the ground a point is scored 8. 11 Ultimate Football Equipment:: jerseys for 1 team, football, up to 10 players on each team Getting started: Object of the game is to pass the ball to team mates and to catch it in the end zone to score No running with the ball, you get one step to pass the ball The defenses job is to disrupt play by knocking down or intercepting passes Defense may play the ball only and may not make personal contact with players, Defense must give the offense room to throw the ball Any ball on the ground may be picked up by the opposing team on defense and play continues right away If the ball goes out or bounds then simply pick the ball up and pass it in from the sideline like soccer If 2 students have the ball then “rock” it out FOULS: -Fouls happen when a player trips, pushes, charges, or has body contact with an opponent. *A foul results in a time out for 1 score or a new player plays in your position and fouling player goes to end of line. 12 Wall Ball and Games on wall
Equipment: Tennis ball, playground ball, or tennis equipment (to play tennis against wall or hit against wall by yourself) Getting started: Decide who will go first, second, third, fourth (only 2-6 players at a wall)etc… all players play. No waiting. To start the game throw the ball at the wall IF you are serving, then catch the ball and throw it back at the wall. It must not touch the ground before it hits the wall. Take turns catching the ball in the order you agreed upon at the beginning of game. If the ball touches the ground before the wall, Then the player that threw the ball must touch the wall. The other players try to throw the ball against the wall before the player touches the wall. If the ball hits the wall before the player touches the wall they are out. If a player tries to catch a ball but misses they too must run and touch the wall before someone throws the ball at the wall. If player touches the wall before the ball they are safe and game continues. You play until all are out, or you can agree to play with one life. 13 Sharks and Minnows How to play:
Equipment: Flag belts 20, jerseys 20 -put equipment away when done How to play: -everyone wears a jersey -20 players max on a team -games starts with 1 person being shark who tries to pull off the other players who Are the other players minnows flags off -When a shark pulls a players flag off they join the sharks and will now pull other Kids flags off -Minnows start play behind the end line, when the shark says go the minnows must Run to the opposite side field past the line with out getting there flags pulled off to Be safe. -Minnows must wear a flag and can run dodge spin, feet must be on the ground , no Jumping or sliding, must run within lines and if you hall on the ground or flags come Off accidently then you are out -The belts go into basket for the next game -if the game is full, there are not enough flags then play another game

14 FLAG FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT: foam football, flags for each team
GETTING STARTED: No more than 8 players on 1 team Offense: team w/ the ball -4 plays to go down the field and score in the end zone -get a new set of downs by completing 2 passes -you have 5 Mississippi's to pass the ball and rush the passer 3. Defense: team with out the ball -get the ball back by stopping the offense for 4 downs or interception -there are no fumbles, ball is down where it lands FOULS: -Fouls happen when a player trips, pushes, charges, or has body contact with an opponent. *A foul results in refocus area and/or suspension, or out for 1 score or a new player plays in your position. This decision is made by the adult. DISAGREEMENT IN GAME: **players with disagreement or problems solve the problem out of the game using “WALK, TALK, ROCK.” **Other players should keep playing, players standing in line may take their place

15 Tennis Getting Started:
Equipment: tennis racket and ball Getting Started: -Play with 1 or 2 players on a team, 1 player in front , 1player in the back -object of the game is to hit the ball over the net in the other opposing players side for a point. Game is first to 5 points. Rules: -you must hit the ball while it is bouncing over the net in the opponents side, If opponent fails to return ball there is a point rewarded -If the ball is bouncing you may hit it -The ball may hit the net and go over, but if the ball hits the net and fails to go over it is not OK DISAGREEMENT IN GAME: **players with disagreement or problems solve the problem out of the game using “WALK, TALK, ROCK.” **Other players should keep playing, players standing in line may take their place
