2 What can the GWC do for Graduate Students?
One-to-one in-person tutoring for students completing UMass Boston graduate courses Drop-in in-person writing sessions, including small-group weekly writing consultations End-of-semester Drop-in Tutoring (in-person) Writing Support Groups for dissertation, capstone, and thesis writer-groups GWC resources and handouts Online one-to-one tutoring and Online Learning Commons for students in participating CAPS online graduate courses

3 GWC One-to-one in-person tutoring
Individual sessions with the same GWC tutor over several weeks. The sessions include assistance with: Paper writing-breaking down the writing process; generating, organizing and revising papers Graduate-level research Understanding of general expectations of graduate-level study at university in the US Academic questions and concerns that you raise

4 GWC Drop-in Group Writing Sessions
Academic Support Programs tutors of graduate and undergraduate students lead drop-in group workshops at appropriate times throughout each semester. Recent workshops include: Cite/Write/Right, Do It Yourself Intellectual Property, Visit the GWC wikispace’s Writing Sessions page to learn more about upcoming sessions, dates, times, and topics

5 GWC Online one-to-one tutoring, group writing sessions, and Online Learning Commons for students in participating CAPS online courses (View An Introduction to the GWC’s Online Graduate Writing Tutoring for more information.)

6 Resources for Thesis, Dissertation, Final Project, Final Synthesis, and Capstone Writers
Thesis and Dissertation Peer Writing Support Group – student-founded groups SPACE at the GWC – A drop-in spot for quiet, busy focused work for students working on thesis, dissertation and other final papers Interactive Sessions on Thesis and Dissertation Writing Visit the GWC wikispace’s final project resources page for more information.

7 ONLINE RESOURCES from the GRADUATE WRITING CENTER and Academic Support Programs

8 GWC services for faculty and/or by faculty request include:
