2 What is a Proper Noun? A Proper Noun names a specific person, place, or thing. Proper nouns are capitalized. Ex: Ms. Ehrhardt Ex: The Alamo Ex: United States Constitution Ex: Kleb Intermediate

3 What is a Common Noun? Common nouns DO NOT name a specific person, place, or thing. Common nouns are only capitalized if they are at the beginning of a sentence or part of a title. Ex: building Ex: document Ex: woman
