Place (1) HOSE IMPELLER TO TANK ( ) over the SQUEEGEE IMPELLER PLENUM as shown. Place (1) CLAMP-HOSE 4 1/2" DIA ( ) over the hose. Slide the clamp to the bottom and tighten to secure hose to SQUEEGEE IMPELLER PLENUM. Clip off any excess clamp. Parts: / Tools: /16” Socket / Air Ratchet / Long Extension / wire cutters

The clear plastic nylon reinforced solution hose at the front of the unit should be routed through the hydraulic hoses, as shown – it should exit through the hoses shown underneath the SUB-5550 MANIFOLD BLOCK LH +HOPPER DUMP DOOR VALVE. It is typically too long to lay properly after it is attached to the SOLUTION/RECOVERY TANK, so it must be trimmed ~ 1” from the end of the HOSE, as shown. Tools: Scissors

Place (1) CLAMP-HOSE 2 1/2 NOM SS ( ) onto the clear plastic nylon reinforced solution hose at the front of the unit as shown. Parts:

Place another CLAMP-HOSE 4 1/2" DIA ( ) over the HOSE IMPELLER TO TANK before installation of the SUB-TANK, HAKO 1800 SOLUTION/RECOVERY. Temporarily tighten the HOSE CLAMP around the center of the HOSE IMPELLER TO TANK. Parts: Tools: /16” Socket / Air Ratchet / Long Extension

Get (2) DRIP SHIELDS, SOLUTION TANK (55) ( ) and (4) RIVETS-AVDEL 3/16 X .602 ( ). Attach (1 each) DRIP SHIELD, SOLUTION TANK (55) on the left & right hand side of WELD-FRAME 5550/1800 W/SWING – (they will later be positioned underneath each of the CAPS-BLACK 9" DIA TANK installed on each side of the SUB-TANK, HAKO 1800 SOL/REC). Tank-Lifting Apparatus Get (1) SUB-5550 SOLUTION/RECOVERY TANK ( ) & position near machine. Get the tank-lifting apparatus. Place it into the tank as shown. Place pin in the front arm to hold in place. Lift the tank and remove all drain plugs from the bottom of the tank. Parts: Tools: Tank-Lifting Apparatus / Hoist

Spray lube onto the drain outlet on the tank as shown. Place (2) CLAMP-HOSE 1\2 NOM ( ) onto (1) HOSE-DRAIN, 5550/1800 W/FLEX NECK ( ) & slide the HOSE-DRAIN onto the outlet. Tighten clamp. Parts: / Tools: 5/16” Nut Driver / Spray Oil / Air Ratchet

Tighten the second clamp on the end of the drain hose to keep it from falling off. Lift the tank and swing it into position over the unit. Tools: 5/16” Nut Driver / Air Ratchet

Remove the BUSHING-BRASS HEX 3/4 MPT X 1/ & FTG-HOSE BARB 90' 1/2X1/2 BRAS from the spin weld shown near the bottom of the SOL/REC TANK & apply 565 PST.ThrdSlnt50ml (TEFLON PIPE DOPE) ( ) to the threads of each, then thread them back into the spin weld.

Tighten the BRASS BUSHING & FTG-HOSE BARB 90˚ so that the final orientation of the FTG-HOSE BARB 90˚ is as right. Tools: 5/8” Wrench Adjustable Wrench

Tighten the clamp (supplied with the DRAIN PLUG ASSEMBLY) that secures the DRAIN PLUG to the DRAIN HOSE. Begin lowering the SOL/REC TANK onto the FRAME. Insert the HOSE-DRAIN, 5550/1800 W/FLEX NECK through the FRAME as shown. Before lowering the SOL/REC TANK all the way, install the PLUG-ADJ DRAIN HOSE CLOSURE ( ) into the end of the DRAIN HOSE, as shown. Parts: Tools: 5/16” Socket / Air Ratchet / Extension

Place (1) PLT-BACKING FOR 9" CAP GASKET ( ) & (1) GASKET-3/8" THK PLASTIC CAP 9“ ( ) inside (1) CAP-BLACK 9" DIA. TANK ( ) & thread the CAP onto the SOL/REC TANK where shown. Repeat for the other side. Route the DRAIN HOSE through the FRAME as shown & down toward the floor. Parts: / /

Once the tank is low enough, connect the solution hose to the fitting on the bottom/front of the tank. Tighten the clamp. Tools: 5/16” Socket / Air Ratchet / Extension

Continue to lower the tank. Pull the slack out of the clear solution hose on the right side of the frame so that it will not kink as the tank is lowered. Continue to lower the tank until it is sitting on the frame.

Attach the HOSE IMPELLER TO TANK from the SQUEEGEE IMPELLER PLENUM to the inlet of the SOL/REC TANK. Slide the second clamp up on the hose and tighten. Tools: 5/6” Socket / Air Ratchet

Get (2) SCRS-HEX 3/8-16 X 5.50 ZP ( ), (2) SCRS-HEX,3/8-16X1.25 ZP ( ), (4) WASHERS-CONICAL SPRING 3/8 ( ), (4) WASHERS-FENDER 3/8 ( ) and (4) WASHERS-SQ 2X2 ( ). On each screw, place (1) conical washer, (1) fender washer and (1) WASHER-SQ 2X2, as shown. Parts: / / / /

Take one of the short bolts and thread it into the frame and the insert on the right rear of the tank.

Take one of the short bolts and thread it into the frame and the insert on the left rear of the tank.

Take the two long bolts and thread them into the frame and the inserts on the front corners of the tank.

Starting on the lower corner of one side of the tank - place (~10’) WEATHERSTRIPPING-RUBBER SPONGE ( ) along the frame level with the edge of the tank as shown. Continue until the weatherstripping has been placed from one rear corner of the tank to the other. Cut to fit. Parts: (~10’) Tools: Utility Knife

Place another (~8’) WEATHERSTRIPPING-RUBBER SPONGE ( ) in between the HOPPER ASSY & the front edge of the TANK ASSY. Continue until the weatherstripping has been placed from one corner of the tank to the other. Cut to fit. Parts: (~8’) Tools: Utility Knife

Get (1) COVER-5550 PLASTIC HOPPER MAIN (MAJOR) ( ), (4) SCR-HEX,5/16-18X0.75 ZP ( ) and (4) WASHER-FENDER 5/ OD ( ). Place one washer onto each of the bolts. Place the cover over the hopper lid. Insert the bolts through the hopper lid and thread them into the inserts in the cover. Tighten. Parts: / / Tools: ½” Wrench

Once the bolts have been tightened and the cover is in place, caulk around all of the bolts to seal any cracks between the cover and the lid. Tools: Caulk Gun / Silicone Caulk

Once the hopper cover is in place, push the solution tank toward the back of the machine. Once it is all the way back, tighten all the tank bolts. Tools: 9/16” Socket / Air Ratchet

Curb-Broom Cable-Rod 711507 711506 260137 Go to curb broom assemblies on front of unit at bottom of hopper. Get (2) SPRING-COMP .960 X 2.00 ZINC (260137), (2) NUT-HEX 5/16-24 ES ( ), (2) WSR-FLT .37 X 1.12 X .06 (711507) and (2) WSR-FLT 5/16 (NARROW) ST PL (711506). Place the small washer onto the large washer and place them on the bottom of the spring. Slide the spring up onto the cable-rod as shown. Parts: / / /

Shop Note: Tighten nut on cable-rod until five threads on rod are showing outside the nut. Thread one of the nuts onto the cable-rod to secure the spring. Tighten nut until five threads on rod are showing outside the nut. This presets the curb brooms for later adjustment of the brooms. Repeat for the other side of the unit. Tools: 7/16” Nut Driver / Grip Locks

Remove the top plug from the side of the steering motor as shown. Replace the plug with the bleeder fitting used to bleed the system. Hand tighten. Tools: Bleeder Fitting / Bleeder Hose 3/16” Allen-Head Bit / Ratchet

Place the bleeder hose onto the bleeder fitting as shown. Route the hose to the reservoir. Remove the cap and place the hose in the tank.

Crank the unit and set the speed switch on high. Turn the steering wheel from one side to the other until it stops. Do this until no air bubbles can be seen in the hose. Cut off unit and remove the bleeder fitting from the steering motor. Replace the plug removed earlier and tighten. Tools: 3/16” Allen Wrench
