3 MOWR Facts: The new Move On When Ready dual-credit program provides financial assistance for postsecondary tuition, mandatory fees, and books. In some cases, students may be charged or be expected to purchase course-related fees, supplies, or equipment. Eligible students may participate part-time or full- time at multiple postsecondary institutions, but applications for Move On When Ready must be completed every term (semester or quarter). Move on When Ready program summer eligibility will begin in summer 2016.

4 MOWR Facts: College courses must be selected from the approved Move On When Ready Course Directory. The Move On When Ready dual-credit program will pay a maximum of 15 semester hours or 12 quarter hours per student and per postsecondary institution. Students can participate in MOWR until the end of their fourth year.

6 Application Process: Student completes the college application process (application, SAT/ACT/Accuplacer, Transcripts) by the college’s deadline. Student completes the MOWR application and submits it to his/her high school counselor for approval. (Part A) Before turning the application into the high school counselor, it must be signed by a parent. The counselor and the student meet and select courses from the MOWR directory (Part B) Student then gives the application to the postsecondary institution.(Part C) Once a schedule has been given to the student from the college, the student MUST give a copy of it to the high school counselor.

13 What is the CCI & MOVE ON WHEN READY (MOWR)?
The CCI provides high school and MOWR programs for students from all 5 Douglas County high schools. Students gain skills that increase job prospects whether headed directly into the job market or on to college. MOWR students earn both high school and technical college credit for courses taken at the CCI. MOWR programs lead to the completion of a technical certificate or diploma.

14 So, What’s New with CCI MOWR?
Available during all 4 years of High School Enrollment (9th, 10th, 11th & 12th grades) No Age Requirements [except PCA & Pharm-16; Dental-17) No Residency Requirements No longer need copy of Birth Certificate or Passport May take Core College Classes & Attend the CCI at the Same Time Fees range from only $0 - $60 (depending on Program) Summer College Classes are Now Included!

15 Who can attend the CCI? All 9th-12th grade students who are on track for graduation may attend the CCI College Programs. Age is only considered in the Health Care Programs. 16 for PCA and Pharmacy and 17 for Dental. All students must meet with their high school counselor to determine eligibility and to ensure that they have room in their schedule.

16 Who Pays for MOWR Dual Enrollment?
WGTC loans textbooks. Students pay additional costs or fees. The new MOWR covers 100% of tuition charged by the college.

17 What are the logistics of the CCI?
Daily Schedule AM Session: 9:00 – 11:35 PM Session: 12:45 – 3:15 Meals Breakfast or Lunch at High School Transportation Provided by school system—ride the bus! Extra-curricular Participation Encouraged!

22 Check your classes so far…
Complete the purple sheet your advisor gives to you by circling YES or NO. Do you have Math, English, Science, and Social Studies class listed? 10th graders, do you have Health and Personal Fitness? Do you have 8 total classes? Do you have at least 2 alternatives? Are you in your pathway course? Let your advisor know if you are missing something!!!

24 How to sign up for electives
Go to Under Links on the right, select the link that says “Infinite Campus Student/Parent Login” Username is your first initial last initial lunch number (ex. tb12345) Password is your 6 digit birthday (ex. For June 27, would be )

25 How to sign up for electives
Select “Course Registration…” Your academic teachers have already placed you in your next academic classes so you should see at least 4 courses under the “Required Courses” Next, select “Course Search” Type in at least one word for the course name. For example, “General” for General PE Once the course that you want comes up, click the course name to add it Finally, click “Request this Course”

On the school’s webpage, click the link “Electives students can register for” This will give you a full list of all the courses that you can enroll in Make sure you remember that many of these electives have pre-requisites If you have questions about pre-requisites, ASK your advisor

27 Things To Remember!!! You need 8 courses to have a full schedule. You need to put at least 2 alternates in case one of your courses is full. You can put more than 2 if you would like. Yearbook (see Ms. Hart in 9309) and WBL (see Dr. Bailey in 330) must be done through application. You CANNOT register for those yourself. If you want any band, JROTC, or chorus class, you must register for the beginning level and then your teacher will put you in the correct class You MUST be done registering for your classes by March 3rd Pick classes you actually want to take. You WILL NOT be allowed to change your schedule next year.

28 Laptops will be placed in the café on Thursday and Friday so you can sign up during lunch if needed.
Dr. Boyle will be available to answer questions. Make sure your parent knows when your conference is and you remind them on that day. If there’s a core course you don’t want, your parent is the ONLY one that can change it. They MUST complete a course waiver form during your conference.
