2 THE BASICS Counselling & Disability Services (CDS) is funded almost entirely by student ancillary fees and there are no “user fees” Discussions are confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone outside CDS without client consent. Exceptions include circumstances where there is imminent risk of physical harm to self or others, or where disclosure is required by law. These exceptions are clearly outlined in the CDS Client Privacy Statement given to all clients on their first visit to CDS and also available on our web site hours are 9am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday – Tuesdays open until 7pm

3 PERSONAL COUNSELLING SERVICES (PCS)
Group, individual and couples counselling To deal with issues causing personal psychological distress Come in person to N110 BCSS to schedule an intake appointment Staff consists of psychologists, social workers, psychotherapists and graduate-level interns in psychology, social work or psychotherapy who are supervised by our staff

4 Personal Counselling Crisis Services
PCS has personal counsellors on call each day during regular office hours to respond to students in crisis. If a student is experiencing a crisis and cannot wait for a regularly scheduled appointment with our Intake Counsellor, the student should come in person to Room N110 Bennett Centre for Student Services. Students should indicate to the receptionist that they are experiencing a crisis and need to speak to someone right away.

5 Personal Counselling Crisis Services
On-call counsellors available during regular office hours to consult with staff or faculty about a student of immediate concern If you feel a student should be seen in PCS quickly, best to call ahead to our reception desk and advise them that you have sent or will be bringing a student in crisis

6 After Hours Crisis Should you or a student require assistance for an urgent situation outside of our regular operating hours, you can call: Police at 911 York Security at extension 33333 Good2Talk Post-secondary Student Helpline 24 hours Assaulted Women’s Helpline

7 DISABILITY SERVICES Support services for students with documented learning, mental health, physical, sensory and medical disabilities. Based on a face-to-face interview and review of relevant psychological or medical documentation, appropriate academic accommodations and support can be arranged Students interested in this support are encouraged to submit required documentation and arrange an initial appointment as soon as possible with the appropriate disability service to register For more information, check the web site at:
