1 Peter 1:23 – for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God…

3. BORN AGAIN: WHAT DO I GET?
1. Forgiven and Loved
1 John 2:12-14 – I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name’s sake. I have written to you, children, because you know the Father.
2. Justified
Just as if I have always obeyed
Romans 3:21-25 – …for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation [took away all of God’s wrath towards sin] in His blood through faith.

4. born again: you GET A LION to fight the dogs of guilt and shame!
Philippians 3:2 – Beware of the dogs…of the evil workers
Revelation 22:14-15 – Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs…
Revelation 5:5 – Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.

5. The new birth: HOW DO I RESPOND?
1. Great Joy
Luke 15:7 – I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
Luke 10:20 – Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.
2. Feed the newborn
1 Peter 1:23; 2:2-3 – for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God…like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord

6. Best thing ever: be born again
“Babies drink the milk and grow;
From where it comes they need not know.”
What do I do?
1. Repentance: God’s Way Is The Way
2. Faith: God’s Word is Fact
What Do I Get?
1. Forgiven and Loved
2. Justified (just as if I’ve always obeyed)
How Do I Respond? 1. Rejoice at the incredible gift
2. Feed the newborn
