5 Why the Bullying, Cyberbullying, Harassment & Intimidation Policy
. The purpose of the policy is to establish expectations for maintaining a safe and respectful school climate or workplace where bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, and intimidation are not tolerated. It also provides standards for identifying and preventing bullying behavior, as well as intervening and supporting students and staff who are exhibiting bullying behavior or who are targets/victims of bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, or intimidation.

6 How to Report Verbal Reporting - Inform a staff member
Bullying, Cyberbullying, Harassment or Intimidation Reporting Form - Submit reporting form to staff member. Reporting forms can be accessed by contacting the school or downloaded from the HCPSS website. Sprigeo - Students, parents, and community members can link to Sprigeo from the HCPSS website. Sprigeo is an on line reporting site.

8 What to Expect after Reporting
The report will be shared with a school administrator Verbal reports will be documented using the Bullying, Harassment, or Intimidation (BHI) Reporting Form Administrator will begin conducting an investigation within two school days of receiving the BHI form and take corrective action Administrator will notify the parents of the target/victim as well as the offender that a report was made and inform the parents about the results of the investigation

9 School Responsibilities
The offender will be informed that retaliation against the target/victim or bystander is strictly prohibited School system and community supports are available for the victim, offender, and bystander The administrator will document the incident and the investigation in the HCPSS student data system A systemwide report is sent to the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) annually

10 What if the Offender is a School Staff Member
Report concern to the Principal If the offender is the principal, report concern to Administrative Director Equity Assurance Manager will be contacted Investigation will be conducted If violation occurred, appropriate actions as outlined in Policy 7030, Employee Conduct and Discipline
