2. Why has all this Happened to us ?

“The Lord is with thee thou mighty man of valour”
“If the Lord be with us, why then has all this happened to us?”

3. Many today still ask Why ?
Job 3:11 “why died I not from the womb?”
He lost everything
Matt. 27:46 “My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
Many today still ask Why ?

4. May be the Cause Adam / Eve – Genesis 3 Ate forbidden fruit
“And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord.” Judges 6:1
Adam / Eve – Genesis 3
Ate forbidden fruit
Eve – in sorrow
Adam – Cursed is the ground

5. May be the Cause Partial Obedience Disobedience
King Saul – 1 Samuel 15
Go and utterly destroy
Obeyed part of command
Partial Obedience Is
Disobedience

6. May be the Cause “The way of transgressors is hard” Pro. 13:15
“Be sure your sin will find you out.” Num. 32:23
Violation of God’s laws brings punishment !

7. May not Always be the Cause
Job is an example

Three friends
“When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold”
Christ had to suffer – was without sin !

8. Because of sins of others
Innocent may suffer
Because of sins of others
Ex. 34:7 “upon the children” “children’s children”
Ezek.18:20 “The wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.”
Consequences
Christ suffered for sins of others

9. Sometimes are blessings in disguise
Suffering
Joseph “God did send me before you to preserve Life.” Gen. 45:4-8
Early Church “Went everywhere preaching the Word” Acts 8:4
Chastisement “for whom the Lord loves he chastens” Heb. 12:6

10. Why do we have death? Heb. 9:27 “it is appointed unto men once to die”
Exit from this world
Enter into another world
“no more death” Rev. 21:4
“Flesh and blood cannot inherit” 1 Cor. 15:50
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints” Ps. 116:15

11. Why do we have War ? Free will Started when Cain slew Abel - Genesis 4
Cain had the choice to do good or evil.
Free will
God can make good come from evil
Joseph - “ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good” Gen. 50:20

12. Why has all this Happened to us ?
“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God.” Deut.29:29
May never know why we have suffering !
“In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly” Job 1:22
