13th July 1789 – In Paris a “National Guard” was formed to try and restore order. Louis Xvi was asked to bring back Necker, Louis refused.
26th August 1789 – Declaration of the Rights of Man produced.
9th July 1789 – A Constituent Assembly was formed
20th June 1789 – Members of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Estates meet at the royal tennis courts
12th July 1789 – Louis XVI had sacked his most popular Minister Necker and sent German soldiers to Paris to keep order
5th May 1789 – King Louis XVI calls the Estates General for the first time since 1614
Late July-August 1789 – The Great Fear
14th July 1789 – Workers in Paris joined soldiers from the National Guard. The men decided to arm themselves and looted 32,000 rifles and 12 cannons. They needed ammunition so they stormed the Bastille.
