2 WRITING Writing- Most of the writing Cursive- We will focus on two
is done in their Writer’s Notebook. At least one writing piece will be published each nine weeks, as the student selects a favorite draft. making revisions, and editing for a final publication. Cursive- We will focus on two letters a week.

3 WORD WORK Assessment Each week we will explore
an instructional spelling skill that follows a pattern. The student will have opportunities to make new words and apply these words in their writing. Assessment We do not test the skill through traditional spelling tests that encourage memorization; instead through authentic writing and application.

10 CASTLE TIME 30 Minute block from 11:45-12:15
Time for Intervention and/or Enrichment Access to multiple teachers Students can move from group to group as needed.

11 HOMEWORK When homework is given, it should not take more than 30 minutes. Homework will be written daily in their agenda. Projects/assignments will be given throughout the year. Code of Conduct comes home on FRIDAY-needs to be signed and returned

12 -Help Wanted- Minimize being tardy and absent
Submit Volunteer application for back - ground check (yearly) Sign agenda each night

13 Parent Conferences Conferences are scheduled for Thurs., Oct. 13th and Tues., Oct. 18th from 3:30 to 8:00. This year conferences are OPTIONAL; however, if you prefer to schedule a conference, please sign up using signupgenius.com. We will send this link out at a later date.
