We’ll be DECREASING your monthly deductions. This doesn’t even include if you’re on the wellness plan and qualify for the monthly discount. We’re also INCREASING your employer HSA contributions.

For 2017, we’ll be adding a 3rd plan which is a HD plan with an HSA. The biggest difference with this plan option is that it will not have the ELAP or CostPlus platforms involved. The other big difference is that the network is through CIGNA vs PHCS. Deductions will be the same as the current HD plan.

New member advocacy program for CostPlus participants Offers advanced customer service for employees with CostPlus / ELAP plans. Provides education and support in the event of a Balance Bill

9 Spousal Carve-Out What is spousal carve-out
Spousal carve-out is a plan provision that restricts coverage for employees’ spouses who are eligible for other coverage, such as through the spouse’s employer. Effective January 1, 2017, Harcros will implement a Complete Spousal Carve-Out. If an employee’s spouse is eligible for health coverage under his/her employer sponsored plan, the spouse is not eligible under Harcros’ medical plan. An affidavit must be completed if your spouse is staying on the plan Deadline to complete affidavit: November 30, 2016 I’m sure that you’ve all seen the announcement from Dana in the 1st part of October announcing the Spousal Carve-Out. In order to control health care costs for the company, Harcros has decided to place restrictions on coverage for spouses. This is also referred to as the “working spouse rule.”  This only affects spouses who have coverage available thru their employer. If your spouse will stay on the plan, they MUST complete an affidavit by November 30, 2016.

11 HSA Change for High Deductible Plan Participants
HSA moving from Optum to Discovery Benefits Your HSA administrator is changing from Optum to Discovery Benefits. For employees already on the high deductible plan, you will now have two HSA accounts. Instructions and benefits on transferring monies from Optum to Discovery will be provided. Currently our HSA administrator is with Optum. We will now be changing to Discovery Benefits effective January 1, For employees already on the high deductible plan, you will now have two HSA accounts. 12 Supplemental Life On April 1, 2016, life insurance and disability carrier changed from CIGNA to Mutual of Omaha NO change in benefits, seamless Increase current employee supplemental life up to $20K – no questions asked! Must complete enrollment form enclosed in open enrollment packet Change cannot be made online through Paycor open enrollment Deadline: November 30, 2016 On April 1, 2016, our life insurance and disability carrier changed from CIGNA to Mutual of Omaha. There was NO change in benefits. However, during Open Enrollment MOO allows employees who already have EM supp life to increase their coverage by $20K – no questions asked! which means they don’t have to provide medical info….

13 HSA Annual Contribution Limits and Info
Employee only maximum contribution $3,400 Employee + 1 and Family maximum contribution $6,750 If you are over the age of 55, additional $1,000 per year contribution can be made Employee pre-tax contributions apply to annual contribution limit No form needed if no changes to HSA employee contribution Employees age 65 and older who are enrolled in Medicare Part A will not be eligible to participate in an HSA Every year the gov’t makes changes to what they allow EM to contribute to their HSA.
