1. Quote sandwich directions
1) read the text
2) read the question 
3) answer the question in your head (without looking back in the text)
4) explain why (in your head) you answered the way you did
5) go back in the story and find the part from your thought in number 4.
6) ask yourself what someone who has never read the text would need to know before they could understand your answer
7) RTQ
8) use the answer from 6 as background info, the quote from 5 as your quote, and the reason from 4 as your analysis
9) double check that you answered the question 
10) check your work for mistakes and double check your quote punctuation (do you have an intro line for the quote, quotation marks, a page number, and a period AFTER the parentheses)
