Location and Access/Egress: From North: A49 from Shrewsbury towards Church Stretton. Into Church Stretton village (right at crossroads off A49 on to B4371) continue to crossroads, turn right onto B 4370 (signed Carding Mill Valley). Continue 400m to left turn into valley. Coach drop off in car park at bottom of valley. Cars/small vehicles can access top car park. Footpath access beyond waterfall and Mott’s road. National Trust jeep can pick up casualties on any track except Motts Rd confluence to “Source” route. Special Equipment: KISU in cold weather. Access rights: Owned by Natural Trust. Public access. Top car park accessible to cars and minibuses Steep steps next to waterfall. Very slippery when wet. Traffic risk when walking groups along road. Waterfall risk of falling – supervise at top of waterfall climb. Coach and minibus parking – traffic risk on boarding and unloading. Steep drop offs Supervise students over scramble rocks Possible egress routes No phone signal & no vehicular access Café and toilets Sheep graze the site – advise students on behaviour when sheep approach looking for food Deep water- pool and reservoir
