3 Emotional Self-Awareness
The first of the four Emotional Intelligence (EI) domains. Emotional self-awareness (knowing what one feels) Accurate self-assessment (knowing who one is) Self-confidence

4 Emotional Self-Awareness
Key to realizing one’s own strengths and weaknesses Help’s one: Be aware of their abilities and limitations Seek out feedback Learn from mistakes Know where they need to improve Know when to work with others with complementary strengths Those with a higher self-confidence tend to perform better

The second EI domain. Self-control Trustworthiness Conscientiousness Adaptability Achievement drive Initiative

6 Emotional Self-Management
Regulates distressing affects such as: Anxiety Anger Fear Helps to inhibit emotional impulsivity Helps us by propelling us to achieve goals Reminds us of positive feelings that come when we attain our goals

7 Social Awareness The third EI domain. Empathy Service orientation
Organizational awareness

8 Social Awareness Helps to:
Read non-verbal cues about negative emotions Judge other’s trustworthiness

9 Relationship Management
The fourth and final EI domain. Developing others Influence Communication Conflict management Leadership Change catalyst Building bonds Teamwork & collaboration

10 Relationship Management
How effective one is in attuning to or influencing the emotions of others All other domains have influence on this one One who is unable to control their emotions, or who is unable to be empathetic, is unable to manage their relationships well
