Seniors and their parents can now apply for financial aid starting in October of the senior year (was Jan 1)
You and your parents can file a FAFSA beginning on Oct 1
Applicants can use tax information from 2016
Pay attention to financial aid deadlines at each individual college—they are different from school to school
