To provide relevant Higher Education Through Teaching, Research and Community Service. The University has 10 schools/faculties – Agricultural Sciences, Education, Engineering, Humanities and Social sciences, Law, Medicine, Mines, Veterinary medicine, Graduate School of Bussiness, Natural Sciences. 14-18 March 2016,Windhoek Vienna Office

Teaching in EO EO work being done at the University Teaching GIS and Remote sensing courses in the following programs BSc in Environment and Natural Resources Management Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Geomatic Engineering BSc in Computer Science MSc in Environment and Natural Resources Management MSc in Spatial planning MSc in Integrated Water Resources Management Centre 14-18 March 2016,Windhoek Vienna Office

Mapping storage capacities of small reservoirs Hydrological modelling using SWAT Forest condition assessment Remote sensing estimation of spatial and temporal variability of actual ET using SEBS Vulnerability mapping and assessment Development of regional MSc in GIS and EO UNZA is interested in all services .i.e. Agriculture, Drought, Flood & Wildfire 14-18 March 2016,Windhoek Vienna Office

5 Others Hosted the National Training workshop for Zambia in July 2015.
Others – MESA related Hosted the National Training workshop for Zambia in July 2015. MESA-SADC provided and installed the MESA university satellite station in 2015 Now attending the MESA university regional training workshop here at NUST – to have capacity Provided students to support the fire service validation exercise in Zambia 14-18 March 2016,Windhoek Vienna Office

6 Collaboration Potential areas of collaboration between MESA SADC THEMA : Teaching - MESA to provide more training, materials, tools and methods. UNZA to incorporate materials in student practicals at undergraduate and postgraduate level. UNZA to offer short courses to NFPs and stakeholders in Zambia Research – Early warming mobile apps based on MESA data for different services. MESA development team can avail us gaps/suggestions for future research in respective services Product validation – UNZA interested in validating products for Agriculture, drought and floods. Curriculum development – UNZA to include the MESA services in the curriculum (long run) 14-18 March 2016,Windhoek Vienna Office

Other Propose a SADC Universities research network to share ideas, experiences and to foster collaborative research. Possibilities of a university MOU? 14-18 March 2016,Windhoek Vienna Office
