Using drugs can prevent people from developing social skills. Using drugs can lead to violence and illegal behaviors. Using drugs can lead to drug dependence.

9 What to know about drug dependence…
Physical Dependence: a condition in which a person develops tolerance to a drug and the drug becomes necessary or the person has withdrawal symptoms. Tolerance: a condition in which the body becomes used to a substance. Withdrawal Symptoms: unpleasant reactions that occur when a person who is physically dependent on a drug no longer takes it. Psychological Dependence: strong desire to continue using a drug for emotional reasons.
