Looking for a field school or a hands-on experience that takes you up close with historic shipwrecks? Join us for a Maritime Archaeology field school this summer! When: July 13-17, 2015 Where: Salem State University (SSU) & Shipwrecks near Salem and Gloucester Who: Anyone. College students and the public. NO prerequisites or diving required. What: This intensive course will cover the practice, theory and methods of maritime archaeology including field work for the survey and documentation of historic shipwreck sites. Dr. Calvin Mires and Capt. Laurel Seaborn of SEAMAHP and Victor Mastone of MBUAR (Massachusetts Board of Underwater Archaeological Resources) will be program instructors for this accredited field school through SSU. Participants will receive 3 Credits through SSU Certification in maritime archaeology through the Nautical Archaeological Society (NAS).
