9. NUOG’s Foundation Focus:
NUOG was formed to take ownership of the issue of nuclear equipment obsolescence.
Purpose:
Create an environment where nuclear utilities can mutually identify obsolete items and potential replacements; provide participants with tools that assist in identifying and solving obsolescence issues to reduce station Risk and Vulnerabilities associated with Equipment Reliability.
Governance:
Formed in February 2000 as a result of an obsolescence forum hosted b Wolf Creek Nuclear in November 1999
A Chairman, Steering Committee, Supplier Advisory Committee and Executive Oversight Committee provide overall program guidance.
Participation:
All of the North American , South America, European, and Asian Utilities currently participate.
Solution providers (suppliers) are fully involved – over 35 suppliers actively participate 9
