3. Where People Live
People in Canada mostly live in the southern most part. Most Canadians in the southern most part because of the warm climates. They also live in the south because its rich in natural resources.
The north of Canada is cold because its close to the Arctic Ocean and Alaska. It is partly covered in permafrost.
The North of Canada is also known for its lack of natural resources.

5. ENVIORMENTAL ISSUES
One environmental issue is acid rain. The cause of acid rain is air pollution/emission from cars, factories AND the U.S (the pollution in the U.S spreads toward Canadians boarder) mixing with the clouds. Acid rain is killing crops, vegetation's, and our food supply. It is being handled by passing laws to limit pollution that causes air pollution.

6. LANGUAGE SPOKEN
The language that is spoken in Canada is French and English because in the 1500s French and British explorers arrived at Canada and claimed there land. The French established what is now Quebec and the British established Newfoundland. Later on the British won the French and Indian war in 1763 and took over the French territory. the French were allowed to keep Quebec but the British controlled the land. Until the Quebec Act of 1774 which allowed French-Canadians to live the way they wanted to caused tension between the two settlers. The tension soon caused the division of Canada into provinces.

7. PROS & CONS:SHOULD QUEBEC SEPARATE FROM CANADA?
If Quebec were to separate Canada would get rid of a huge chunk of its dept.
If Quebec were to separate it
Would settle there dispute over the French and English language.
CONS
If Quebec were to separate it would no longer be apart of the trade partnership between Canada and the U.S.
Canada is the first bilingual country and even though Quebec likes to be called “strictly French” it is still a huge part of it.

8. GOVERNMENT SYSTEM
Canada is a constitutional monarchy. Meaning the citizens vote for the parliament (legislatures) and the parliament chooses the leader(executive branch). As soon as the leader is chosen ,he/she chooses a monarch(head of state). But even though it’s constitutional monarchy, Canada is a federal government system. It shares power between the national and regional governments.

9. CHIEF AND HEAD OF STATE
The head of state is queen Elizabeth. Her majesty does not have any ceremonial power. She is just there to look pretty and take pictures. The governor general David Johnston also acts as the head of state when the queen is in England.
The prime minister Justin Trudeau is the chief of state. He holds true power in the government(passing laws, trade profits, etc.).

10. ECONOMIC SYSTEM
Canada is a mixed economy(but it is a little closer to market). This means businesses decide what, how, and whom to produce and the government approves and regulates it.

11. NAFTA
NAFTA stands for North America Free Trade Agreement. It is an organization to allow free movement of goods and services among the countries. And to protect the property rights of people and businesses in each country.
NAFTA was proposed in 1993 and was approved in 1994.
NAFTA applies to only North America (United States, Canada, and, Mexico).
NAFTA is similar to a trade barrier because both mean not having to pay a tariff(tax) on goods.
