STUDENT A (Student B will start the conversation) STUDENT B (Start the conversation) TASK1 You had a terrible weekend. You went to a concert with your sister, but it rained all night. You all got wet and you became ill. Your friend asks about your weekend. Tell him/her that your weekend was terrible. Tell him/her what happened that day. You meet your friend and ask him/her about his/her weekend. Ask him/her how her/his weekend was. Ask him/her where she/he went. Ask him/her who she/he went with. Ask him/her what happened and why it was terrible.

STUDENT B (Student A will start the conversation) You are a police officer. Somebody calls you and tells that s/he saw a man stealing something from a shop. Ask questions about: What happened The man’s age The man’s height The man’s clothes What he stole You saw a man stealing something from a shop. You call the police and answer the questions about: What you saw (there is a picture of the man below) TASK2

STUDENT A (Student B will start the conversation) STUDENT B (Start the conversation) Think about a film you like and recommend it to your friend by giving information about the following: - the name of the film - the type of the film - actors/actresses - what it is about - what s/he likes about it Take turns You want to watch a film in English, so you ask your friend about his/her favourite film. Ask about the following: TASK3

STUDENT B (Student A will start the conversation) TASK4 You are late for work for two hours. You didn’t hear your alarm clock and you got up late, so you missed the bus. When you come to work, your friend says that the boss wants to see you. Tell your boss that you are really sorry for being late Tell your boss why you are late. Say what happened next. Tell him/her that you missed the bus and you got on the wrong bus. Say you feel really bad about it and finish the conversation. You are the boss and one of your workers is late for work for two hours. Your worker says that she/he is really sorry for being late and she/he says the reason. However, you are unhappy with the situation. Show interest and ask follow-up questions. Ask him/her what happened, where she/he was, what she/he did, and what happened finally. Show him/her that you aren’t happy with the situation. Tell him/her that she/he shouldn’t be late for work again.

Call your friend Suggest an activity Agree on the activity your friends suggests. Suggest a time and place to meet Confirm plans and say goodbye You are at home. You are available only on Saturday because you have plans on Sunday. Your friend calls you to make a plan for the weekend. Answer the phone. Ask how he/she is. You don’t like the activity. Tell your friend that you want to do something different with him/her. Suggest going for a bike ride and having a picnic. Your friend doesn’t like the idea and she/he suggests another one. Respond to the suggestion positively and suggest a time to meet. Confirm plans and say goodbye. Your friend phones you. She/he suggests going for a bike ride for tomorrow. You don’t want to do this and you suggest watching films at home. Answer the phone and ask how she/he is. Tell you don’t want to go for a bike ride. Suggest watching a film at home. Arrange a time to meet. Finish the call.

STUDENT A (Student B will start the conversation) STUDENT B (Start the conversation) TASK7 You are an old woman/man. While you are crossing the road, you fall to the ground in the street. A young woman/man comes and asks about the problem. Say the problem. She/he offers to call an ambulance. You accept the offer. Thank him/her. While you are walking in the street, you see that an old woman/man falls to the ground. You want to help him/her. Ask about the problem. Offer to call an ambulance. When your friend thanks to you, give a response to him/her.

Answer the phone Say Mr. Clark not in the office Ask for taking a message Want his/her telephone number Check for the number End the phone call
