1 Navigating Laker Life:
How to Add Community Service Hours 2017

2 You can access Laker Life through www. oswego. edu
You can access Laker Life through On the home page, drop down the “Student Life” tab and select “Clubs & Orgs/Laker Life”

3 You will be brought to the Laker Life page
You will be brought to the Laker Life page. Click “SIGN IN” located both in the center and upper right corner of the page. You will then be redirected to the “Single Sign On” page where you will enter your Oswego Laker NetID and your password.

4 You will then be directed back to the Lake Life Page
You will then be directed back to the Lake Life Page. At the very top of the page is a banner containing tabs for Home, Events, Organizations, and Campus Links. Select the “Organizations” tab Then, you may type in the name of your organization and when it appears to the right of the search bar, select it.

5 You can also access your organization by dropping down the tab under your name in the top right hand corner of the page and selecting “Involvement” Once you’ve selected “Involvement” you will be redirected to a page with a list of the organizations you are a member of. Select your chapter and Open Organization Site.

6 Once you’re on your organization’s site, you will see a banner displayed across the center of the page, right below your organization name. Select the “Service Hours” tab located far-right on the page. You will be redirected to a page that looks like this: Select the blue “Add Service Hours” button.

7 You will once again be redirected to a form for adding Community Service Hours.
1. Your Organization will auto-fill 2. Be sure to include a Description of the community service hours you completed. This is a required field. 3. Then, provide the Date, Hours, and Minutes of your community service. 4. If you have a Verification Contact available to you, include it before creating your Service Hours. This is not a required field, but it is encouraged.

8 The Following Information is for Organization Officers and Campus Administrators:
Chapter Leadership Approval Hours: From the same “Service Hours” page on Laker Life, select the grey “Manage Service Hours” Button. From there, scroll down to the bottom of the page and locate the “Approved, Pending, Denied” tabs. *You will have to report your organization’s service hours. In order to do so, there can be no pending hours. If there are pending Service Hours from members of your organization, they will be displayed under the “Pending” tab. You may approve them or deny them on this screen.*

9 In order to report your organization’s total approved Service Hours, you must take a screen shot of the “Approved” hours. Once again, you will be navigating from the “Manage Service Hours” page. On the right hand side, there will be a banner containing tabs labeled “Week, Month, 3 Month, Custom”. Select Custom and enter the dates of the semester you wish to report. The page will automatically generate the hours submitted for the time frame you entered. The hours will be displayed below the dates window. Example: For the Fall 2016 semester, select dates 08/23/2016 to 12/15/2016. There should be ZERO pending hours There should be a total of approved hours If there are denied hours, note that they do not count towards the total of Approved hours.

10 How to screen shot your approved hours:
On a Windows computer: On a Mac computer: Hit the PrtScn button to take a screenshot of the entire screen: When using Windows, pressing the Print Screen button (located in the top right of the keyboard) will take a screenshot of your entire screen. Hitting this button essentially copies an image of the screen to the clipboard. You’ll then need to paste the image into Word, Paint or some other image editing program to view, edit or save the image. If you’d like to capture only the active window press the Alt and PrtScn buttons together. MAC: Hit the command, shift and “3” keys together to take a screenshot of the entire screen: When using Mac, pressing the Command, Shift and “3”buttons together will take a screenshot of your entire screen. This screenshot will be automatically saved to your desktop. Press the Command, Shift and “4” keys together to take a screenshot of a selected area.

11 You must now submit your screenshot to the standards of excellence
Revisit the Organizations tab and select “Greek Council” Locate the “Forms” tab on the grey banner displayed across the center of the page. Select “Fraternity and Sorority Standards of Excellence” Then, select “Organization Site” From there, you will have access to the Standards of Excellence forms and will be able to upload any required documents.
