3 Civil Rights Quilt

4 Civil Rights Quilt You and your small group (2 maximum) are going to create a quilt of ideas, quotes, thoughts, etc. about the articles you read about the Civil Rights Era Each day you will get a new article (totaling 4) Each day you will need to read and complete different tasks about the article. Notice our due date on our calendar

5 Directions: 1) Your Quilt will contain at least 28 tiles.
2) Each tile MUST be created WITHOUT the use of the computer. 3) Each Tile MUST be Labeled & Placed In Order.

6 In addition, each tile MUST be of “Poster” quality to hang on the wall.
Each tile MUST be in color. Mark your tile handout to correspond with your quilt (do this when you are done).

7 Expectations and Definitions Of Tiles
 Title of the Article – Title, Author, & Some Type of Graphic. Be sure to include the DATE at the top of your paper. Vocabulary Word – A Word That Is important to the article, its Definition, & clue. A significant event (picture and explanation)- one illustration of an event (there are many) from the story and what happened Quote – A quote or line from the article that has significant meaning, & Why this quote is significant or important to you

8 Historical Significance – Line Or Quote From article that shows the historical significance to the Civil Rights Era Picture of the main idea – This is your way of showing what you “see” when you read the article. Summary of Article – A well written paragraph that summarizes the article. Should make connections to the year it had in the civil rights era. Your Choice- This is your opportunity to have your words or ideas show about the article
