John 1:41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). John 1:49 Nathanael answered and said to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

12 Psalm 2 Jesus is called the Messiah, the Son of God, the King of Israel. Confirmed by the Hebrew writer 1:5 For to which of the angels did He ever say:       “ You are My Son,       Today I have begotten You”?    And again:       “ I will be to Him a Father,       And He shall be to Me a Son”?

17 Isaiah 2:1-3 When? The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.        2 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days       That the mountain of the LORD’s house       Shall be established on the top of the mountains,       And shall be exalted above the hills;       And all nations shall flow to it.        3 Many people shall come and say,       “ Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,       To the house of the God of Jacob;       He will teach us His ways,       And we shall walk in His paths.”       For out of Zion shall go forth the law,       And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. What? Who? Where?

18 Isaiah 2 When? – The Last Days Joel 2 speaks of the last days.
Peter says by the Spirit that things to happen in the last days were then happening. Acts 2:16-17 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:        17 ‘ And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,        That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;       Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,       Your young men shall see visions,       Your old men shall dream dreams.

19 Isaiah 2 When? – The Last Days
Acts 3: Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days. 25 You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ 26 To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.” Repentance preached in “These Days.” (turning away every one of you from your iniquities)

20 Isaiah 2 These days are called the beginning of the time that repentance and remission of sins began to be preached in the name of Jesus. Luke 24: Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Acts 2:38 Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.

21 Isaiah 2 What? - The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established and exalted. Daniel 9:16 “O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all those around us. Joel 3:17 “ So you shall know that I am the LORD your God,       Dwelling in Zion My holy mountain.       Then Jerusalem shall be holy,       And no aliens shall ever pass through her again.” Zechariah 8:3 “Thus says the LORD:  ‘ I will return to Zion,       And dwell in the midst of Jerusalem.       Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth,       The Mountain of the LORD of hosts,       The Holy Mountain.’ Genesis 49:10 The scepter shall not depart from Judah,       Nor a lawgiver from between his feet,       Until Shiloh comes;       And to Him shall be the obedience of the people

22 Isaiah 2 What? - The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established and exalted. Mountain is used in other places to describe earthly governments Jeremiah 51: “ And I will repay Babylon       And all the inhabitants of Chaldea       For all the evil they have done       In Zion in your sight,” says the LORD.        25 “ Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain,       Who destroys all the earth,” says the LORD.       “ And I will stretch out My hand against you,       Roll you down from the rocks,       And make you a burnt mountain.

23 Isaiah 2 What? - The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established and exalted. It is the rule of God through Christ in the kingdom, the church. Hebrews 1:3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

24 Isaiah 2 What? - The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established and exalted. It is the rule of God through Christ in the kingdom, the church. Hebrews 1:8 But to the Son He says:  “ Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;       A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

25 Isaiah 2 What? - The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established and exalted. The Lord’s house is the church 1 Timothy 3:15 but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God,…

26 Isaiah 2 What? - The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established and exalted. It is a spiritual house 1 Peter 2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house,… John 18:36  Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”

27 Isaiah 2 What? - The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established and exalted. It is a spiritual house comprised of Christians. Hebrews 3:6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

28 Isaiah 2 What? - The mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established and exalted. We are His kingdom, His house, the church over which He rules. Ephesians 1: And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

29 Come back tonight.

30 Isaiah 2 Who will come to God’s house? All nations
Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

31 Isaiah 2 Who will come to God’s house? All nations
Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass       That whoever calls on the name of the LORD       Shall be saved.’ Acts 2:38-39, Mark 16:15-16

32 Isaiah 2 Where was this to commence? From Jerusalem
Luke 24:47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Thus the command to wait in Jerusalem. Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4 Men from every nation were there Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.

33 Isaiah 2 v. 3 He will teach us His ways,       And we shall walk in His paths.”       For out of Zion shall go forth the law,       And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. The law, the word of the Lord, is the gospel of Jesus Christ.

34 Isaiah 2 The gospel is the law that was to go forth.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. James 1:25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

35 Isaiah 2 We are governed by the law of Christ.
1 Corinthians 9:21  To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

36 Isaiah 2 Isaiah 2 fulfilled in Acts 2 The Lord’s rule established.
All nations subject to it. The law went forth from Jerusalem.

37 Daniel 2:31-45 Four kingdoms identified: Head of gold - Babylon
Daniel 2: You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory; 38 and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all—you are this head of gold.

38 Daniel 2:31-45 Chest and arms of silver – Medo-Persians
Daniel 5:18 O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom and majesty, glory and honor. Daniel 5: “And this is the inscription that was written: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. 26 This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; 27 TEKEK: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; 28 PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”

39 Daniel 2:31-45 The belly and thighs of bronze – Greece
Daniel 8:5-8 And as I was considering, suddenly a male goat came from the west, across the surface of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. 6 Then he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing beside the river, and ran at him with furious power. 7 And I saw him confronting the ram; he was moved with rage against him, attacked the ram, and broke his two horns. There was no power in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled him; and there was no one that could deliver the ram from his hand. 8 Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven. Daniel 8: The ram which you saw, having the two horns—they are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the male goat is the kingdom of Greece. The large horn that is between its eyes is the first king.

40 Daniel 2:31-45 The legs of iron and feet partly of iron and partly of clay – Roman Empire Rome is not named, but we know from history that Rome followed Greece.

41 Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

42 Daniel 2:44 The ministry of John the Baptist and Jesus and the establishment of the church occurred during the reign of the Caesars. Luke 3:1-3 John 19:12 From then on Pilate sought to release Him, but the Jews cried out, saying, “If you let this Man go, you are not Caesar’s friend. Whoever makes himself a king speaks against Caesar.” Acts 11: Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar. , Acts 25:10-12

43 Daniel 2:44 The kingdom was at hand according to John the Baptist.
Matthew 3:2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

44 Daniel 2:44 The kingdom was at hand according to Jesus.
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Mark 1:15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Luke 10:9 And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

45 Daniel 2:44 The kingdom was at hand according to Jesus.
Mark 9:1 And He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.”

46 Daniel 2:44 Mark 9:1 points to Acts 2.
The apostles were to receive power after the Holy Spirit came upon them. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

47 Daniel 2:44 If we know when the HS came upon the apostles and gave them power, we know when the kingdom came, for it was to come with power. Acts 2:1-4 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

48 Daniel 2:44 The kingdom of God prophesied by Daniel, came with power with the coming of the HS upon the apostles. Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, Revelation 1:9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ

49 Daniel 2:44 Daniel said the kingdom would never be destroyed. This is true of the church. Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of His government and peace       There will be no end,       Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,       To order it and establish it with judgment and justice       From that time forward, even forever.       The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Luke 1: He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

50 Daniel 2:44 Daniel said the kingdom would never be destroyed. This is true of the church. Hebrews 12:28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, Ephesians 3:21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
