Safeguarding Children: Flow chart for support and advice GP staff / Practice nurses Identified lead for safeguarding within the practice / colleague If you are unsure whether or not a referral to Children’s Social Care is needed, please seek advice In Hours (9am-5pm : Monday to Friday) from: Designated Doctor: Dr Julia Hale (Consultant Paediatrician)/ On call doctor Tel: Designated Nurse: Judith Lewsey(Nurse Consultant Safeguarding Children) Tel: Mob Non-urgent advice by (can take up to 5 working days) Named GP: Dr Rebecca Scott If you are unable to get through to either Dr. Julia Hale or Judith Lewsey, phone: Barts Health Safeguarding Children Team – Office hours (Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00) On Call paediatrician at Wellington way – (Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00) Outside Office Hours (17:00 – 09:00 , weekends and Bank Holidays): Telephone the Royal London Hospital switchboard on asking for the on call safeguarding advisor. To refer to the Tower Hamlets Children’s Social Care team, phone: Integrated Pathways and Support Team/Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Tel: / 5606 / 3859 / 2972; Outside Office hours (17:00 – 09:00 , weekends and bank holidays) Tel: The Inter-agency referral form can be found on the CCG website
