1 2017-2018 PHS Junior Varsity Cheerleading Squad

2 Coach Miller I'm Miranda! This is my first year in Paris, and I absolutely LOVE it! I am from Fort Worth, and recently graduated with my Bachelors in Speech Pathology this past May from Abilene Christian University. I am a speech therapist at Aikin Elementary, and enjoy every minute of it. I cheered for 4 years, and then was on my high school's varsity, and then on to ACU's dance/drill team. I am so excited for this years PHS cheer!

3 Megan Jameson – Head Cheerleader
My name is Megan Jameson.  I am currently a Freshman Paris HS Junior Varsity Cheerleader.  My cheer experience includes two years of competitive cheer with Texas Legend Cheer and cheering my 8th grade year at Paris Jr High.  My favorite part of cheering is tumbling, being a flyer in our stunt groups and being a part of a team that is more like a family to me.  I enjoy taking tumbling classes each week where I am continuously working hard to accomplish new tumbling skills.  Just recently I got my round off-back handspring-back tuck.  I am a straight A student and work hard at keeping my grades up.  I am goal oriented and believe that working hard to accomplish your goals is an important part of life.  I am proud to be a Wildcat and take great pride in being able to represent my school cheering on our Wildcats and Lady Cats each week.

4 Emily Eddlemon – Co-Head Cheerleader
I am in the graduating class of I have done school cheer for 2 years and competition cheer for 6 years in Paris, Mount Pleasant, and Dallas Texas. I have received 3 "wow awards" from 3 different spirit celebration cheer competitions and was an NCA all American cheerleader nominee in the summer of 2016.

5 Grace Perry     My name is Grace Perry, I am 14 years old and I attend Paris Junior High. I love to represent my school in the best way I can and I love cheering on the wildcats. I have two sisters. Abby is 11, and Marley is 1. I have been cheering for the school for 2 years now and I love every minute of it. I went to Aikin Elementary school and Crockett Intermediate School before attending the junior high. In my free time I like to spend time with my family and friends. Some of my hobbies include: playing soccer, hanging out with friends, watching movies, and baking. I have been playing soccer for a few years now at PSA and I love it. I like going to school and I have always had straight A's. My parents are both engineers and work for the Texas Department of Transportation. I also like to attend the football and basketball games at Paris High

6 Chyann Rhodes Hi, my name is Chyann Rhodes. I was born in Hope, Arkansas on January 7, I started out doing gymnastics at the age of 4. When I got to 1st grade, I signed up for peewee cheer and have been cheerleading ever since. Most of all I have great leadership qualities and am able to motivate others with my positive attitude. Additionally, I’m not forgetful of cheers which I think is a plus. Most of all, I understand the true role of a cheerleader. We are the tasked with providing energy, positivity, and school spirit when it is lacking. I relish being a cheerleader and love for the people to know that they can ask me questions at any time. Throughout my cheer years, I was always the one that had to get out in front of the squad to teach or help them with a cheer, chant, or even dances. I was never afraid to do so and I never backed down. I also feel a need for my coaches to know that they can always depend on me. Staying positive and encouraging others when they feel as if they can’t do something is important to me.

7 Aubry Scott My name is Aubry Scott, I have always been interested in cheer ever since I was around the age of 5. I loved going to the basketball and football games and watching the cheerleaders doing their work to keep the crowd going. I knew from then on that I wanted to be apart of that experience. I’m 14 at the moment, but my birthday is in June so I’ll be 15 soon. I will be a freshman this August, and I don’t think there’s any better way to start the year off than to be apart of this opportunity. Some things about me are i like to cuddle with cats, watch movies, and hang out with my best buds. I’m always prepared for challenges or anything new to learn. I’m excited for what my first year of high school has to bring me. Let’s go cats!

8 Sidney Frierson Hi! My name is Sidney Frierson. I’m 13 years old and attend Paris Junior High. I’m very excited to try out for 9th grade cheer. Some of my favorite things to do are read, cheer, and run cross-country. I have been on a competitive team for 2 years and have cheered for PJH both years. My favorite classes are writing, social studies, science, and (sometimes) math. I have two siblings. My sister, who attends Crockett Intermediate, is in 5th grade. My brother attends Aikin Elementary and is in 4th grade. My father is on the Paris City Council and has been for many years. My mother taught at Crockett, but now works at Success Center for Learning. I also have several pets, and love animals. If I made the Paris High cheer team, I would do my very best to encourage and lead others. After all the definition of cheerleader is an enthusiastic and vocal supporter!

9 Ashlyn Callihan I am Ashlyn Callihan, daughter of Bryan and Kristi Callihan. I have always attended Paris and love supporting the Wildcats. I have one brother, Kaden Callihan, a previous 2015 PHS Alumni. As his sister, I had the opportunity of attending Wildcat events year after year following him around. I intend to continue following in his footsteps of Valedictorian at PHS. I enjoy participating in sports and being involved in school activities. Cheer and athletics have allowed me the opportunity to know students, teachers and Wildcat fans on a different level. I also love participating in volleyball and soccer. It is exciting to be part of a team and build relationships. I am fourteen years old and have lived in Paris, Texas my whole life. I enjoy the outdoors and being at the lake with my family. I have found two new loves, wakeboarding and surfing. It is a great day when our family spends a day at the lake! At PHS, I hope to continue being involved in clubs, sports and cheer. I am dedicated, a hard worker and excited to begin my high school years. I would be honored to be chosen as a PHS cheerleader so I can continue cheering on the Wildcats. I will continue my hard work and represent PHS with pride.

10 Dayedrah Dillard Hi , my name is Dayedrah Dillard. I will be a freshman next year at Paris High School. I have been involved with cheer my seventh and eighth grade years and I would like to continue in high school. I am currently enrolled in tumbling classes at Texas Tumbling Trampoline. I play for the Paris Junior High Band. I also competed  in track both junior high years as well. I also cheered for the city of Paris cheer program. I enjoy cheer because I get to support my school and my town. I think making people smile is my favorite part of cheer. Cheering felt like a good sport to do since all my brothers play football at Paris High. Last year at Paris Junior High I won cheerleader of the year because I never complained, never got tired, and never gave up. That's what I'm planning on doing at Paris High.

11 Alysa Andoe My name is Alysabeth Andoe, I’m excited to be part of the Freshman class. I am a member of Paris Jr. High’s National Junior Honor Society. I have been a PJH cheerleader for two years, along with playing volleyball, basketball and running track.

I have five siblings , Tamyija Rashawn , Shaniyah , Tristan and Trae . Some of the things that I enjoy doing are dancing and singing , but what I really enjoy doing cheering . I started doing cheer when I was six years old . The very first cheer team that I was on were called the Jets ! I loved being a cheerleader for the Jets because my brother (Trae) was a football player for the team that I was on . The first time that I had to go out in front of a crowed was very terrifying . I didn't know what to do , I was panicking ! After a couple of minutes of breathing and walking back and forth for a while I finally realized that cheerleads are not supposed to show any kind of fear ! Once the game had started I was so ready and pumped that I had forgotten all about how scared I was of showing my spirit for my team ! Till this day I am not afraid of showing my pride and spirit about what I love to do !

I also participate with Upward Bound, with whom I attend two monthly Monday morning meetings and a monthly Saturday meeting, all meant to prepare us not for college and life after graduation, but to also prepare us for entry into the dorms at PJC to take classes there in the Summer 1 term, lasting from June to the first week of July, where I'll be unable to participate in anything until either the weekend or after the session ends.
