 I grew up in West Salem, WI. I attended Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. And received my degree in Early Education. I have experience with tutoring ESL children from the ages of 5 to 16 years old and I also coached Middle School Track and Field for 8 years out of High School. After college I then accepted my first teaching job in Milwaukee, WI. Teaching 4K Head Start and I stayed with my class for five years! My husband and I moved back to my home town and I am now teaching 1 st grade at a Montessori School in La Crescent MN. I attended Ashford University while teaching to receive my bachelors degree in Education/Social Science. I am now pursuing my graduate degree with Ashford University in Educational Leadership/ Reading and Literacy Program. Background

  I recently just got married in June and when I am not teaching I love spending time with my family and my husband. I love the outdoors and I love sports. My two favorite sports are watching Wisconsin Badger Football and cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers. I love the outdoors and running. Hobbies

  Growing up I attended a small Lutheran school in West Salem, WI. The school started at Pre- Kindergarten and went up to 8 th grade. I attended all eight years. I then transitioned to the High School in West Salem. The transition of easy for me because I was involved in extra-curricular activites and sports. Growing up going to a small school really helped me in my studies because I was always learned best in a smaller learning environment. It was a good learning pace for me. School Background

  When I complete my graduate degree at Ashford University I want to be able to be a leader in a school and reflect on all of my years and share with everyone my experiences teaching in inner city schools as well as small town school experiences. I want to be able to create a positive school environment and use my teachings in a whole new way. My masters will help me to get to where I want to be in that leadership role and I want to be able to create healthy and fun learning in schools. Future Teaching

 “What distinguishes effective instructional leaders from others is not a distinctive set of characteristics but an approach to their work that is guided by a distinctive set of beliefs about what is possible.”- Samuel E Krug In addition I believe that the effective leader must also be guided by a distinctive set of beliefs about himself. I believe that the foundation of effective leadership is personal integrity. My actions will serve as an example for others and will be based upon honesty, respect and fairness. I envision my school as a place where students can learn, where teachers can teach, and where everyone is committed to excellence. Philosophy
