5 Provision for Gifted students in PE
Leadership responsibilities/ opportunities Writing PE newsletter, Guidance towards JSLA/CSLA / leadership academy and volunteering in the local community. Arrange G&T trip through school G&T funding Attend borough G&T days Back to secondary framework

6 Provision for Talented Students YEAR 11+
Recognition by financial contribution for attendance at national championship. Introduction of School mentors: School support for elite performers to accommodate training. (reducing timetable late starts early finishes) Working more closely with parents including regular contact to promote whole child approach. Ambassadors for sport within the local community.E.G Visits to local primary's/ secondary's A data base of past pupils who have succeeded to a high level in their sport. Back to secondary framework

7 Provision for Talented students YEAR 7/8
PDMs to have a central copy for all G&T students Pupils given additional responsibilities such as coaching roles, captaincies and leadership opportunities. Standardised G&T tests (yet to be developed) Arrange G&T events/trips through school G&T budget. Highlight success within the school in newsletter or PE noticeboard. Track students progress throughout the year. Back to secondary framework

8 Provision for Talented Students YEAR 9/10
JAE programme Suspend Homework in periods of high competition- monitored through School Mentor. Apply for funding: Youth Sports Trust/ Milly Apthorp. University based trips/ career advise. Back to secondary framework

Differentiated Lesson plans (See Barnet SSP website and resources for differentiation ideas). Meet with your schools G &T coordinator (Discuss and become aware of G & T standards and pupil specific action plans) Back to ladder

Developing Skills Making and Applying Decisions Developing Mental/physical capacity Evaluating and Improving Choose 3 core tasks. One each from gym/dance, Games and Athletics. Assess students according to these core tasks – use borough DVD’s to help you. Your top 10% in the class make up the basis of your G & T list in PE. Also take into consideration the 5 abilities in PE; Social, Physical, cognitive, creative and personal, click here for information on 5 abilities Key Stage 1 core task examples. (Choose 3 core tasks) Athletics – Colour match Gym – Making shapes Dance – Moving along Games – 10 point hoops Key Stage 2 core task examples. Athletics – 3 jump challenge Gym – Balancing act Dance – Indian delight Games – Run the loop Back to ladder

Formal Letter from the school signposting students to local clubs. Talent spotting at Partnership events from SSCOs and local club scouts. G&T Partnership academies and clubs in place through sports partnership G&T holiday camps Back to ladder

13 Identification and collation of G&T lists
Attain G&T primary lists from PDM Questionnaire students to find out representative honours in sport- (PESSYP data) Parental information given at consultation evening or school website forums. Individual PE departmental assessment (utilising core tasks and teacher observations) Work towards 10% guidelines Back to secondary framework
