2 End of Year Expectations
2nd grade parents, We have enjoyed every bit of having your child in our classes this year! Here are a few things we learned this year, and things they should know by the end of 2nd grade, going into 3rd grade. These concepts are all important for them to know as they transition to 3rd grade.

3 End of year expectation
Your child should be reading.. A Level M book Words per minute: 87 With 97% accuracy of retelling information. With ability to describe their book with 27 or more words.

4 What overall concepts did my student learn in 2nd grade?
Math: Even and odd numbers Adding and subtracting to 100 Measurement Place Value Geometric shapes Money Time Graphing (Pictograph, bar graph & line plot) Rows & Columns Arrays (Next week!)

Language Arts: Choosing just right books! Nonfiction vs. Fiction Who? What? When? Where? Why? Problem & Solution Cause and effect Tricky word strategies Series books Fables & fantasies Character studies
