2 Persephone Goddess of the Underworld
Her name comes from the Greek Mythology

3 Background Persephone is the goddess of the Underworld and spring growth She is married to Hades the god of the Underworld Persephone is the daughter of Demeter and Zeus or of Zeus and Styx Her kids are Zagreus and Melinoe by Zeus and The Erinyes by Hades

4 Claim to Fame Persephone became the goddess of the Underworld when Hades seized her and forced her to be his queen and stay in the Underworld for 6 moths a year. Persephone is goddess of spring growth for the other half of the year. Persephone’s allies are any of the Olympic gods/goddesses and the Underworld people Persephone hated Minthe a nymph because this nymph slept with her husband Hades and Persephone turned Minthe into dust and Minthe bloomed into a mint plant.

5 Downfall Persephone had no downfall because she is a goddess so she doesn’t die

6 Tales Persephone was mentioned in The Iliad, the Odyssey, and in the TV show Hercules
