2 OLLI Overview The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is a membership-based lifelong learning program for adults 50 and better. Annual and Term (Bi-Annual) Memberships Lectures Members can attend at no additional cost. Short Course Academic courses taught by university faculty and community individuals with expertise in their topics. Special Events Include trips, workshops, and unique one-time opportunities Special Interest Groups (SIGs) Volunteer-led opportunities that include Films, Meditation, Hiking, and Walking groups. Donations

3 Open Registration: Starting Gun Fires
Each new OLLI term has two “Open Registration Days” Day 1: Online/Paper Registrations (paper registrations mailed/dropped off) Day 2: Walk-in/Phone-in Heaviest traffic on first day, with giant “virtual crowds” piling into the online system Staffing coordination Customer Service (phones, walk-in members) Paper registration processing Troubleshooting/AW-Pending resolution

4 Out with the Old… Old online registration process
Members add registrations one by one, individually, to shopping cart Heavy click/tap count (average of 8.7 enrollments per member in FY15, on top of membership itself) Could be cumbersome for less savvy users, when navigating round-about paths through the UI, needing to scroll/swipe (without responsive design) Servers getting pounded, resulting in extreme slowdown during “open registration” days

Consent Form Required with purchase of membership Running total of fees Ability to donate and have the member define the amount Browse Curriculum view (ability to browse without creating account) Format is easy to read and intuitive to use Restrict members from purchasing overlapping memberships and ensures membership requisites have been met/purchased prior to enrollment.
