MCS Sixth Form 2016/17

MCS Sixth Form 2016/17 Timetable issues have been amended. Any problems remaining, see Miss Lloyd after assembly. Important facts to note about a sixth form timetables: There is no such thing as a “free period” on your timetable, these are designed to be study sessions. For every one hour you complete in class you should be completing two extra hours of additional work or study.

MCS Sixth Form 2016/17 Rooms available for sixth form students to use throughout the day: Silent study room in E Block (2nd floor) 6th form work room in D zone (3rd floor) 6th form common room in D zone (3rd floor) Additional space will be provided by subjects areas where possible, if you ask.

MCS Sixth Form 2016/17 All sixth form students will be expected to be in school from Registration to Lesson 4 daily. Even if you only have a lesson L5 on the timetable, you will be expected to attend from 8.40am and organise your additional sessions/revision/time in the study room, etc during these non-contact periods There is no such thing as a “free period” on your timetable, these are designed to be study sessions. There is no such thing as a “day off” in sixth form. Completing 4 A level qualifications or equivalent is a full time job and therefore can not be completed in 4 out of 5 days.

MCS Sixth Form 2016/17 When the “data drops” happen in school, we will monitor your progress. If you are working well and making progress, the heads of house will review your personal situation and may negotiate the non-contact time.

MCS Sixth Form 2016/17 Signing in and out of school:
If you do not have a lesson L5 and are leaving at lunchtime to go home, you MUST sign out at the attendance office D1.7. Any medical appointments or other, please sign out. This is vital for fire regulations. If you are leaving for break time or lunchtime there will be a sign out book in reception (as you will sign out and then back in when you return).

MCS Sixth Form 2016/17 EMA You must do 24 hours a fortnight and ensure that you lesson are marked as present. This is your responsibility.

MCS Sixth Form 2016/17 Sixth form students will be given ID cards to use to leave the school building at break time and lunchtime. This will allow you access via the front of the school. If you are leaving during break time or lunchtime you must be back in time for the start of the next lesson (regardless whether you have a scheduled lesson). If this privilege is abused, it will be removed.
