4 Review – Features of MAP
Computerized and adaptive test that measures academic growth (in reading and math) Difficulty of the test adjusts based on student performance as they progress through the test Individualized and unique for each student Give students as much time as needed to complete each test AVERAGE time required to complete each test is 50 minutes (per NWEA) A continuous test with content covering Kindergarten through High School

5 Review – Benefits of MAP
Each test is individualized giving all students the opportunity to succeed Parents and teachers receive quick, detailed, and accurate information about student’s academic growth Test is designed to let teachers know where students strengths and challenges are (Results used to inform instruction in the classroom) Provides students with information needed to achieve their personal goal

6 RIT (Rasch Unit) Scale Achievement scale Equal interval
Grade/Age Independent Shows growth over time Linked to learning continuum Adult Math 240 NWEA scale Test items are calibrated for difficulty along the RIT scale. 150 Beginning Math

8 Class Report (by Test RIT)
Student and class performance Displays the teacher’s class data for the current testing term by RIT score Use to see a breakdown of student performance by subject in a class; use to differentiate instruction.
