31 Growth Goals as a Motivator  The Fall RIT scores should serve as a benchmark to determine growth goals for the school year.  The Winter MAP Test should serve as checkpoint for progress being made toward those growth targets made for the Spring.  Setting growth goals provides motivation to teachers and students.  Goals are more authentic if they are discussed one- on-one with a student throughout the school year to discuss their progress.
