BETA Lights show that the Reverse and Ground range is functioning. If they are not there going to reverse will add more fuel and increase aircraft speed. Use to be a safety switch to prevent Reverse in-flight Procedures were implemented after an E-2 mishap

Multiple Alerts are sounded due to TCAS and TAWS High Crosswinds Most Junior Pilot flying with the CO Procedure dictates a “go around” if BETA lights go away or are not present
