Mood Definition: The prevailing or dominant feeling of a work, scene, or event

Example of Mood Example:
In Act One, The Crucible by Arthur Miller, the mood is set as one of fear and suspicion

Narrative Definition:
The telling of a story or an account of an event or series of events

Example of Narrative Example:
A great example of a narrative work is The Diary Of A Young Girl by Anne Frank because of the events that she describes during her hiding from the Nazis

Onomatopoeia Definition:
An effect created by words that have sounds that reinforce their meaning

Onomatopoeias are used very often in comics such as Garfield by Jim Davis

Oxymoron Definition: combines two contradictory words in one expression The results of this combination are often unusual or thought provoking

Example of Oxymoron Example:
In Act One Scene One of “Romeo and Juliet”, William Shakespeare combines “brawling” and “love” ,which are contradictory to each other, creating an oxymoron “Why, then, O brawling love! O loving hate!”
