4 PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND TARGET TERRITORY
contribute to the increase of labour mobility across the border through improved workforce skills for the job market matching the needs of the Latgale-Utena and Šiauliai cross-border area by: improving the workforce skills and mobility; improving the material basis for the education process; raising awareness on the offer of education programmes.

5 PROJECT PARTNERS Latvian partners: Kraslava Municipality (Krāslava territorial unit of Riga State Technical School); Malnava College; Daugavpils Design and Art Secondary School “Saules skola”; Balvi Municipality ( Balvi Vocational Secondary School); Lithuanian partners: Alanta School of Technology and Business; Zarasi Agriculture School; Utena Regional Centre of Vocational Education and Training; Joniškis Agricultural School .

6 DURATION AND BUDGET Duration: 24 MONTHS (May 7, 2017-May 6, 2019)
Budget: ,96 EUR 85% ERDF funding, 15% national co-financing (incl. state co-financing - 5% in LV, 5,5% in LT) Latvian partners’ budget: Kraslava – ,88EUR; Malnava – ,69EUR; Daugavpils “Saules skola” – ,35EUR; Balvi – ,29EUR; Lithuanian partners; budget: Alanta – ,71EUR; Zarasi – ,04EUR; Utena – ,04EUR, Joniškis – ,06EUR.

7 ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE THE WORKFORCE SKILLS AND MOBILITY
Improvement of the workforce skills and mobility will be done through series of theoretical and practical joint cross-border activities for the students and teachers of the involved schools organised in four inter-disciplinary themes – (1) transport vehicle including vehicle technical aspects and interior design, (2) textile and art design, (3) landscape design and agro tourism, and (4) agriculture and technologies - consisting of (1) trainings, coaching and exchanges of good practices for teachers, (2) internships, study visits and cross-border field practices for students, (3) joint creative workshops on each of the 4 themes for a mixed group of students from Latvia and Lithuania, and (4) improvement of the offer of education programme

8 ACTIVITIES TO IMPROVE THE MATERIAL BASIS FOR THE EDUCATION PROCESS
This will include modernisation of education infrastructure and equipment at each of 8 involved schools needed for offering cross-border inter-disciplinary educational programmes that match the needs of the labour market in the cross-border area thus stimulating mobility of the workforce across the Latvian-Lithuanian border.

9 ACTIVITIES TO RAISE AWARENESS ON THE OFFER OF EDUCATION PROGRAMMES
The improved education programmes will be promoted through the project partner websites and accounts on the social media and on the Programme website, as well as joint participation of all involved schools in education exhibitions and joint presentation events demonstrating the results of joint creative workshops.
